Course Logistics
- The 13.1-mile, half marathon course starts and finishes in Aquatic Park
- The course is primarily flat but includes 3 challenging climbs near the Golden Gate Bridge
- Roads will reopen to vehicular traffic on a 13 minute/mile pace, at which point slower runners and walkers may need to proceed along the side of the course. The finish line will remain open until 4 hours following the start
- Mile markers will be positioned at each mile along the course

Cash & Awards
Participants will be awarded in the following manner:
- $2,000 for New Half Course Records (Male & Female)
- PCEC Men’s Master’s Cash Prize Purse, $1250 total for 40+ & 50+ (Half Only)
- Top 3 Overall Male & Female (Half & 12K)
- Top Male & Female from San Francisco (Half Only)
- Awards to top 3 Male & Female in the following age divisions: 19-under,
20-29,30-39,40-49,50-59,60-69,70+ *Subject to change based on number of entries per group (Half Only)
- Divisions will be determined by the runner's age on race day
- In accordance with USATF Rules, overall awards & cash awards will be determined by gun time while age group awards will be determined by chip time
Climate
Race Course Directions (Print Version)
- Start at Aquatic Park
- Proceed up a slight hill on Van Ness to Bay St
- Take a right on Bay St
- Continue 4 blocks to Laguna
- Take a right on Laguna to Marina Blvd
- Continue on Marina until Crissy
Field Gate
- Proceed straight on Old Mason St
- Veer right at the end towards the Warming Hut & West Bluff Parking Area
- Take a left on Long Ave to Lincoln Ave
- Proceed south on Lincoln Ave down Crissy Field Ave
- Take a right on McDowell toward Lincoln Ave
- Take a right on Lincoln Ave through the southeast parking lot at the Golden Gate Bridge
- Proceed to the east sidewalk of the Golden Gate Bridge
- On the north end, just north of the Vista Point entrance, veer right on the maintenance road and follow this to the road under the Bridge, then follow this to the parking lot and onto the west sidewalk of the Bridge
- Continue on west sidewalk and proceed to the right at the end onto Battery East Bicycle Path to Lincoln Blvd.
- Take a left down Long Ave to Fort Point
- After the turn around proceed onto the Golden Gate Promenade to Crissy Field Parking Lot
- Veer right onto the diagonal trail that meets up with Marina Blvd at the Crissy Field Gate
- Proceed on the Marina Blvd sidewalk to Fort Mason
- Proceed up McDowell Pass over Fort Mason
- Continue straight over Van Ness and to
the finish line!
Start!
- Sunday, November 4th, 2007 at 7:00am (Half), 7:30 (12K & 5K)
- Runner's enter at the foot of Van Ness on Municipal Pier adjacent to Aquatic Park
PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO CHECK-IN TABLE OR LATE REGISTRATION ON RACE DAY!
Timing
- Make every stride count! The US Half Marathon utilizes the computerized chip timing system, which records
each runners actual running time to the second
- Chip timing starts a runners time when they reach the starting line instead of when the gun goes off
- Your finish time is then calculated precisely when you cross the finish line
- Be sure to return your chip to the
collection boxes after you finish
Water Stops, Bathrooms & Medical
- Arrowhead Water & Cytomax will be available at 6 aid stations along the course, and at the finish
- Bathrooms will be available at the half way point inside Battery East Parking lot on the way to the Golden Gate Bridge
- Chiro Medical Group will be at the start & finish and roving ALS/BLS units will be along the course
Smile!
- brightroom will be at the event taking
photos on the course, at the finish line and after you finish. Be sure to have
your race number visible on the FRONT of your body at all times
- Photos will be available online at brightroom.com
within a few days after the race. Have a great race and we will see you at the finish line!
Safety & Race Courtesy
- Do not run in from the sides. It endangers you and
other runners
- No roller blades, skateboards, or bicycles
- No strollers (except 5K) or assisted wheelchairs
- No animals
- Walkers and slower traffic stay to the
right and line up at the back of the pack

Once you finish running, there's still lots to do at the finish line:
- A post-race festival awaits you, located
at historic Aquatic Park. Enjoy refreshments, visit event sponsors, take photos with
fellow racers and reunite with family and friends
