Ryan Dawkins, President

Ryan’s successful racing career has given him an unmatched familiarity with the racing arena. As a triathlete, cyclist, collegiate swimmer, marathoner and mountain biker, Ryan has not only been involved in high-level competition, but also the business aspects of event promotion and production. Since graduating college in 1998, Ryan has competed in numerous events, across a broad spectrum of disciplines, including Balance Bar Adventure Race Series, Rock & Roll San Diego Marathon, Honolulu Marathon, Mayor’s Sun Marathon in Alaska, Hi-Tec Adventure Series, and the International Cycling Classic in Wisconsin. In 2003, Ryan and three cycling teammates took 2nd place in Race Across America (RAAM), a 24hr a day competition from San Diego to Atlantic City, finishing in just over 6 days.

In 1998, Ryan managed the Health Management department at Montgomery Securities/Banc of America and was involved in the production of a variety of events and coordinated relations with numerous athletes and organizations including members of the US Ski Team and national charity organizations such as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Juvenile Diabetes and the Aids Foundation. Following Banc of America Securities, Ryan founded an online health care start-up before returning to banking with Salomon Smith Barney as a Financial Consultant.

In 2002, Ryan founded the US Race Series, a half marathon series across the U.S. that quickly became the most popular distance in the running industry. The US Race Series’ host cities have included Atlanta, Denver, Sun Valley, Copper Mountain and San Francisco. That same year, he founded, Areté Racing, a cycling team that has grown into one of the premier Category 1, 2 teams on the West Coast. Through these ventures, he has recruited top athletes and managed relationships with corporate sponsors such as; The Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee, Hyatt, Vellum Cycles, AOL, CBS, Kiehl's, Rudy Project, and T-Mobile and oversees interaction with many other sponsors. He also coordinates all public & city government relations, including media packages, permitting, sponsorship proposals, and press conferences.
